All humans share the desire for attention, the desire to be acknowledged. Acknowledgment helps people feel that they are understood, that they belong. With the sense of belonging comes the feeling that they are a part of something bigger.
They become engaged.
Something that great performers and the most effective leaders share in common is they have learned the secrets of how to cultivate engagement in others, how to shine a spotlight on ideas, projects, and messages. The sooner you can capture attention, the more your audience will be engaged and actively participating.
